Exowatt is a climate tech company founded in 2023 and backed by leading investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Sam Altman. The company is revolutionizing the energy landscape with its P3 system—a groundbreaking technology that captures solar energy, stores it as heat, and generates electricity on demand. Exowatt's mission is to make sustainable renewable energy always available and nearly free, enabling technological advancement while protecting the planet.
The Power Systems Engineer will own the balance of plant (BoP) design and integration of Exowatt's P3 modules into customer sites. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless integration of modules into various grid, behind-the-meter, and microgrid configurations. The position is highly cross-functional, requiring collaboration across engineering teams, customers, engineering procurement and construction (EPC) partners, and developer partners to ensure successful deployment of systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and optimize balance of plant systems for P3 module integration
- Manage technical integration across grid, behind-the-meter, and microgrid applications
- Coordinate with EPCs, customers, and partners on deployment strategy
- Apply deep power systems engineering principles to solve complex integration challenges
- Ensure compliance with grid interconnection standards and requirements
The ideal candidate brings experience in microgrid design, power generation projects, and grid interconnection. A strong foundation in power systems engineering principles is essential. This is a senior individual contributor role that guides technical direction and mentors junior engineers on complex integration challenges, though it does not include direct people management responsibilities.
