Halter is a venture-backed agtech company transforming sustainable grazing practices through autonomous livestock management technology. The company is backed by tier-1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, and DCVC. This role owns the global production network strategy and architecture for Halter's manufacturing operations across factories, suppliers, and contract manufacturers. You will define the reference architecture for secure, high-reliability manufacturing networks, including segmentation, security controls, remote access, observability, redundancy, device onboarding, and IP standards. You'll set readiness gates and standards for network deployment, validation, monitoring, documentation, change control, and incident response. Key responsibilities include driving cross-functional execution for new country and site launches, capacity ramps, major supplier onboarding, and systemic reliability improvements. You'll make critical readiness calls on whether network capability, reliability, security, and support models are sufficient for production milestones. You'll also mentor engineers, set technical standards, and build repeatable patterns that others can safely deploy. You bring proven technical leadership in high-reliability industrial, manufacturing, logistics, data centre, telco, or utilities environments. You have deep architecture experience across routing, switching, VLANs, IP standards, segmentation, firewalls, secure remote access, observability, redundancy, configuration management, and incident response. You've scaled network infrastructure across multiple sites, countries, and vendors with clear standards and documentation. You balance velocity, security, uptime, supportability, and cost effectively, and communicate clearly with Production Engineering, IT/Security, vendors, suppliers, and leadership. Approximately 20% travel is required for on-site ownership of critical changes. Experience designing networks for factory infrastructure (production lines, test stations, Linux-based test PCs, routers, gateways, connected fixtures) is valuable but not required.
