Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market platform, enabling users to trade on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. The platform traded $21B in 2025 and is growing rapidly as an alternative news source.
You will own mobile performance end-to-end across Polymarket's iOS and Android platforms. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on technical leadership and establishing performance as a first-class discipline.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning startup time, rendering performance, and runtime efficiency with measurable targets
- Setting technical direction for mobile performance architecture, standards, and tooling
- Optimizing critical paths: app startup, screen transitions, real-time data rendering, and network handling
- Designing efficient data fetching, caching, and synchronization strategies for low-latency responsiveness
- Building real user monitoring, crash reporting, and frame rate tracking systems
- Establishing performance benchmarks and budgets that scale with team and product growth
Required qualifications:
- Deep mobile performance engineering experience at significant scale (iOS, Android, or both)
- Strong expertise across the mobile stack: rendering, memory management, network optimization, background processing, app startup
- Proficiency in Swift and/or Kotlin with understanding of mobile runtimes and OS scheduling
- Experience with real user monitoring, frame rate profiling, and observability systems
- Measurement-driven approach with profiling and instrumentation expertise
- Technical leadership experience setting direction and raising engineering standards
Preferred: experience with real-time data applications, live market feeds, trading products on mobile, or fintech/data-intensive consumer mobile products.
