AST SpaceMobile is building a global cellular broadband network in space to connect billions of unconnected mobile subscribers. We are seeking a detail-oriented Master Data & Configuration Management Specialist to bridge engineering configuration data with supply chain operations across our multinational business environment.
You will own the architecture and governance of our item master data, ensuring every inventory item is accurately coded, classified, and linked across Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). You will establish structural rules, data attributes, and parameters—including country-specific requirements for tax, customs, regulatory, costing, accounting, and reporting—while collaborating globally with cross-functional teams to maintain consistent enterprise standards.
Key responsibilities include:
• Creating, configuring, and maintaining inventory records, SKUs, and parts information within ERP/WMS systems
• Establishing and standardizing critical data fields (Unit of Measure, weight, dimensions, hazardous material codes, HS codes, country of origin)
• Configuring system parameters such as replenishment triggers, minimum/maximum levels, safety stock thresholds, lead times, and economic order quantities
• Defining warehouse layout logic including put-away zones, picking sequences, and temperature-control parameters
• Synchronizing inventory profiles across interconnected networks (suppliers, manufacturing facilities, e-commerce platforms, retail points of sale)
• Executing bulk data uploads, cleansing routines, and schema adjustments using SQL, advanced Excel, or data migration tools
• Governing the system workflow for introducing new inventory items, managing product revisions, and phasing out obsolete stock
• Conducting regular data health audits to identify duplicate records, missing attributes, or broken pricing links
• Partnering with Finance and Accounting to define item-level financial attributes, inventory valuation methods, costing approaches, and general ledger account mappings
• Maintaining ERP fields required for cost rollups, landed cost, taxability, duty classification, capitalization, depreciation, and financial reporting accuracy
• Configuring item master attributes required by each operating country or region, including local tax treatment, statutory reporting requirements, customs documentation, tariff classifications, and regulatory compliance needs
• Coordinating with Procurement to maintain supplier part numbers, approved vendor lists, purchasing units of measure, lead times, minimum order quantities, and sourcing rules
• Aligning Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Warehouse Operations, Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Quality, and Compliance teams to ensure item master records are complete and approved
• Working with global and regional stakeholders to align ERP item master standards and support consistent master data governance across countries
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant systems experience may be considered
Experience:
• 5+ years of experience managing item masters, inventory databases, or configuration parameters
• Experience analyzing large data sets and generating actionable insights
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience configuring inventory modules in major enterprise platforms (SAP MM/WM, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Infor)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Power Query)
• Basic knowledge of SQL query writing
Soft Skills:
• Exceptional attention to structural detail to ensure complex unit conversions compute flawlessly
• Ability to visualize how a database field change impacts physical operations in a fulfillment center
• Strong cross-functional communication skills to translate engineering specs, purchasing terms, and logistics needs into consistent system configurations
Technology Stack:
• ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Tulip, or equivalent)
