Salary: USD 146,000 - 219,000 / annual

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is building a remanufacturing and service operation for its Tactical Effects product line (Bolt, Anvil, Ghost). As Lead Manufacturing Engineer for Remanufacturing, you will architect and lead this critical sustainment operation from the ground up. You will own the complete vision, strategy, and execution of a "reverse factory" that services, upgrades, and returns fielded assets to mission-capable status. This includes designing the end-to-end service program, physical factory layout, and material flow to support all customer and internal service needs. You will build and mentor a team of 4-5 manufacturing engineers and specialists, fostering a culture of rapid problem-solving and technical excellence. Key responsibilities include: - Architecting the service and remanufacturing program strategy, factory layout, and material flow - Building, mentoring, and leading a dedicated team of MFG Engineers and Specialists - Owning business and operational performance: establishing and tracking KPIs for turnaround time, cost, parts salvage rates, and program efficiency - Defining service standards and tiered dispositions ("like-new" vs. "certified functional") in partnership with Design Engineering - Owning the complete asset lifecycle from intake and diagnosis through repair, overhaul, and final validation testing - Authoring technical playbooks for remanufacturing, including teardown procedures, inspection criteria, rework processes, and BOMs - Championing "Design for Serviceability" by creating feedback loops to Design and NPI teams to improve future product reliability and repairability - Driving the complete spare parts strategy, from forecasting and procurement to inventory management This is a leadership role where you will define vision, build the team, and own the entire production system for fielded hardware. You will make business-smart decisions balancing speed, cost, and quality, turning reverse logistics into a strategic advantage. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related engineering field - 6+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul), customer support engineering, or depot-level repair - 1+ years of demonstrated leadership experience responsible for a team's direction and output - Proven hands-on experience troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis on complex electromechanical or robotic systems - Strong business acumen with experience in cost-benefit analysis and process optimization - Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to build structure in ambiguous, fast-paced environments - Experience writing technical documentation (work instructions, test procedures, failure analysis reports) - Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Direct experience establishing a repair, MRO, or remanufacturing operation from the ground up - Experience in customer-facing service or support engineering roles - Experience with unmanned aerial systems (UAS/drones) or autonomous robotics - Knowledge of ERP/MES systems and RMA (Return Material Authorization) processes - Data analysis skills (Python, JMP, Tableau) for identifying and reporting failure trends - Previously held or currently active U.S. Security Clearance
