Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join its Digital Manufacturing team in Costa Mesa, California. This role combines technical leadership with data analytics to optimize manufacturing operations across product lines and new product development initiatives. You will lead a small team of engineers in developing and maintaining analytical solutions that support day-to-day decision-making for manufacturing operations. Working closely with manufacturing leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, you will develop and implement solutions that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality through data-driven insights. Key responsibilities include: - Leading and guiding a small team of engineers on new solution development and continuous improvement of existing systems - Conducting detailed analysis of manufacturing data including production metrics, process flow, and resource utilization to identify improvement opportunities - Collaborating with manufacturing leadership to develop analytics-driven solutions aligned with business objectives - Monitoring industry trends and best practices to keep manufacturing processes and analytical tools at the cutting edge - Leading kaizen, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma initiatives to optimize production processes - Implementing and refining manufacturing KPIs to measure performance and drive accountability - Supporting new product development from a manufacturing perspective, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness - Providing strategic input into capacity planning and workforce management for operational scalability - Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation of analytical solutions and continuous improvement strategies Anduril's Digital Manufacturing team plays a pivotal role in optimizing operations through advanced digital solutions, ensuring processes are efficient, scalable, and integrated with industry standards. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Data Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred—MBA or MS Engineering) - 8+ years of experience in manufacturing strategy or analysis roles with a track record of tangible insights and implementations that drove measurable results - 2+ years of direct team management experience or complex cross-functional project management - Expertise developing insights and solutions using data visualization and analysis tools: SQL, Python, Typescript, Tableau, PowerBI, PLTR Foundry, MS VBA, or similar - Strong analytical skills with ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy - Familiarity with manufacturing software and advanced proficiency in statistical analysis and data presentation tools - Experience with lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma - Ability to quickly understand new operations and potential issues on product lines - Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly - Ability to work collaboratively in team environments and lead cross-functional projects - Adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment - Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
