Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform enabling organizations to harness IoT data for actionable insights across physical operations including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing.
You will serve as the technical anchor for ML infrastructure across Samsara's Safety AI organization. This is a high-impact individual contributor role (not sitting under another technical lead) where you own the architecture and evolution of the end-to-end ML platform spanning training, experimentation, inference, and edge deployment across 2M+ deployed devices. You will be the connective tissue between applied ML teams, security, and data platform, making architectural decisions that shape platform direction, unblock multiple product teams, and translate directly into real-world safety outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting technical strategy and owning end-to-end delivery of Samsara's ML platform (training, experimentation, batch/online inference, edge deployment)
- Making architectural decisions and serving as the accountability point across all platform layers for multiple Safety AI product teams
- Driving design, launch, and iteration of Safety AI features (computer vision models, EcoDriving insights, LLM-based reporting)
- Co-owning outcomes including safety metrics, reliability, and cost at production scale
- Operating as the technical lead who unblocks applied ML teams and translates platform capabilities into customer impact
The role is calibrated at Staff, Senior Staff, or Principal level depending on candidate experience. What matters most is end-to-end platform ownership and the ability to operate as the technical anchor for the organization. You will have autonomy and support to make an impact as part of a recently public company building for the long term.
