AtoB is modernizing payments infrastructure for the trucking and logistics industry, building what they call "Stripe for Transportation." The company has raised $125M+ from top-tier investors including General Catalyst, Mastercard, and founders from Google, Salesforce, Coinbase, and DoorDash.
In this role, you'll lead large-scale infrastructure projects and own the company's Kubernetes (EKS) infrastructure managed via Porter. You'll be responsible for applying Kubernetes best practices including resource management, health checks, autoscaling, pod disruption budgets, and graceful rollout strategies. You'll tune deployments and cluster configuration to achieve zero-downtime releases and high availability, design and improve CI/CD pipelines for fast and reliable delivery, and contribute to observability, alerting, and incident response practices across the platform.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of platform engineering and data engineering. You'll help shape a greenfield data platform built on modern lakehouse foundations, with real ownership across infrastructure and data in a small, high-impact team.
Required: 8-12 years of deep Kubernetes expertise in production environments, strong CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance experience, demonstrated ability to learn modern data engineering (lakehouse architectures, Iceberg, CDC, dbt), strong SQL skills for query optimization, excellent cross-functional collaboration abilities, and an ownership mindset to take systems from design through operation.
Nice-to-have skills include cross-region architecture experience, multi-tenant architecture expertise, familiarity with Apache Iceberg or AWS Glue, experience with EKS or Porter, knowledge of modern data stack tools (dbt, Snowflake, CDC tools), and experience in fintech or regulated environments (PCI DSS, SOC 2).
