Clara is a fast-growing B2B fintech platform in Latin America providing spend management solutions including corporate cards, bill pay, financing, and a powerful B2B platform serving over 20,000 large and growing businesses. You will lead the systems that define how users exist and move within Clara's platform—authentication, authorization, identity, and access control. This role owns end-to-end auth architecture, implementation, and Auth0 integration across frontend and backend systems. Security is a first-class concern baked into how the team builds.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning authentication end-to-end: architecture, implementation, and Auth0 integration across frontend and backend
- Leading a multidisciplinary team through sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives
- Elevating team capabilities through pairing, mentorship, and knowledge sharing
- Setting and maintaining quality standards through code reviews, design reviews, and personal execution
- Reviewing product specifications from a technical lens, flagging feasibility gaps and identifying where AI tooling can accelerate delivery
You bring 5+ years of software engineering experience with solid production execution, 2+ years of hands-on authentication/authorization implementation with Auth0 or comparable identity platforms, and strong Java/Spring backend skills with solid React frontend experience. You understand security best practices for web applications and distributed architectures, balance velocity with the constraints of owning critical systems, and operate with high autonomy and ownership mindset. You actively experiment with AI tools in your day-to-day work and are eager to apply AI to how the team builds. English proficiency required for leading technical discussions across geographies.
