Material Bank is the world's largest material marketplace for the architecture and design industry, operating in 37 countries. The company is launching MB3, a modern B2B commerce platform designed to replace its legacy system and serve architects, designers, and brands at scale.
You will join as a Front End Engineer to design, build, and deliver technical and product roadmap features for this new platform. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers to shape key technology decisions and define integration standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain the front-end architecture for the new platform, ensuring alignment with technical vision and business goals
- Translate wireframes and design mockups into interactive, visually appealing user interfaces
- Optimize UI components and application code for performance, scalability, and responsiveness across high-traffic periods
- Lead the migration from CommerceTools to a NextJS-based application, including refactoring and decoupling the frontend
- Build and maintain comprehensive testing frameworks using Playwright
- Own critical engineering aspects including SEO tooling, site analytics, monitoring, performance optimization, and A/B testing
- Create and maintain documentation for UI components, coding standards, and best practices
- Ensure accessibility, UX, and responsive design best practices throughout
You'll bring 5+ years of strong expertise in React and related libraries, with demonstrated ability to design and develop complex user interfaces. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frontend tooling is expected. Experience with NextJS, performance optimization, SEO implementation, and testing frameworks is valuable.
