New Relic is seeking an experienced Enterprise Systems Engineer to lead the architectural design, development, and deployment of resilient, scalable solutions on the Salesforce platform, specifically for Sales and Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) systems. This is a hands-on technical role where you will spend approximately 70–80% of your time coding while serving as the primary technical point of contact for project stakeholders. You will be responsible for translating business and product requirements into clear technical roadmaps and system specifications. You'll establish engineering best practices, design patterns, coding standards, and testing strategies across the Salesforce development team. Your technical expertise will span APEX triggers and classes, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce configuration and workflow, and security administration. Beyond coding, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to Salesforce engineers, fostering their technical growth and career advancement. You'll lead agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, technical grooming, and post-mortems. Code reviews will be a key responsibility, ensuring quality, security, and performance across the codebase. You'll also manage technical debt proactively, balancing delivery speed with long-term system health. Cross-functional collaboration is essential. You'll partner with Technical Managers, Enterprise Architects, and other Technical Leaders to align on scope, timelines, and technical feasibility. You'll communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership, and drive operational excellence by improving CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and incident response. Required qualifications include 5+ years of software development experience in Salesforce/CPQ, strong expertise in APEX, LWC, Salesforce configuration and security, API design, JSON structures, and boundary system architecture. You should have familiarity with DevOps tools like GearSet, strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira and GitHub/GitLab, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Bonus experience includes Salesforce Communities (Portal) architecture and modern security practices such as OAuth and third-party connectors.
