Descript is seeking a Lead Product Manager for the Narrative Editing team to own the script-based editing features that are core to the platform's value proposition for professional creators. You will shape how users capture, edit, and perfect their stories—from script-first editing that makes video as simple as a document, to recording and writing tools that keep creators within Descript, to AI regeneration features that make edits feel seamless and natural.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop deep customer understanding of creative goals and the evolving AI video landscape to guide the editor roadmap
- Bring Descript's design taste into interactions and defaults so creators naturally produce polished, professional work
- Expand editing capabilities by partnering with the AI Research team to launch frontier features like video regeneration and automatic speaker identification
- Own the recording, script generation, and translation flows that enable end-to-end video workflows within Descript
- Ensure the platform scales reliably for larger teams and more complex workflows
You will work with a small, collaborative team where your impact is immediate and visible. The role offers the opportunity to shape features that professional creators depend on while working with cutting-edge AI and a product users love.

- Strong customer discovery and problem-definition skills; preference for understanding customer needs before building AI-first solutions
- Comfort with ambiguous problems and ability to translate ideas into action
- Attention to craft and detail; focus on building products people love to use
- Systems-minded product thinking with experience in workflow design
