Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The company is at a unique inflection point—early enough to shape the product and culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and gaining momentum. The Factory Test team designs, builds, and operates the infrastructure needed to test nearly every part of Terran R at headquarters in Long Beach, CA. This centralized approach provides engineers and technicians with exposure to the entire product lifecycle across a wide range of part sizes and complexities. Test stands are capable of handling millions of pounds of force. In this role, you will lead the DACS (Data & Control Systems) hardware group, responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining data and control systems that support factory testing operations. You will design, build, and operate a diverse set of world-class testing assets while fostering the growth and development of high-performance engineering teams in partnership with Factory Test leadership. Key responsibilities include technical mentorship and talent development of your team, with both deep technical and people leadership responsibilities. You will allocate resources, provide technical direction, and enforce best practices within your group. You will also serve as liaison and advocate with software and partner electrical teams. You bring 5+ years of experience developing, activating, and troubleshooting electrical and software systems. You have a fundamental understanding of low voltage, DC electronics and familiarity with data and control systems (SCADA, PLCs, NI, Beckhoff, etc.). You demonstrate the ability to make decisions and gain consensus with incomplete information and many stakeholders. You are comfortable with ambiguity, thrive in fast-paced environments, and have a track record of building and scaling teams. Experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing test environments is valued but not required.
