MISUMI Americas is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer to own and evolve the AWS infrastructure powering their global digital manufacturing platform. This is a hands-on technical role combining infrastructure architecture with Node.js development—not a whiteboard-only position. You will design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using CloudFormation as the primary Infrastructure-as-Code tool. Key responsibilities include architecting multi-region AWS environments for high availability, scalability, and security; building and maintaining Node.js-based automation tools and services for deployment workflows and platform operations; designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines; setting up logging, monitoring, and alerting; troubleshooting complex production issues; and driving initiatives around performance, reliability, security, and cloud cost efficiency. You'll lead infrastructure projects end-to-end—from planning through execution—while collaborating closely with engineering, security, and product teams. The role requires mentoring and guiding a small team on infrastructure projects, though the primary focus is hands-on technical work. Required qualifications: 10+ years in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, SRE, or Systems Engineering; 5+ years of production Node.js development (building services and automation, not just deploying applications); expert-level AWS experience across EC2, Lambda, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, RDS, CodeBuild, and Elastic Beanstalk; extensive real-world CloudFormation experience managing complex templates and full stack lifecycle; strong CI/CD pipeline design and operation; production debugging experience; database performance tuning; AWS security best practices; and strong Linux systems knowledge. Nice-to-have skills include experience leading infrastructure teams, operating multi-region AWS environments, containerized workloads (ECS/EKS), cloud cost optimization, and background in fast-growing engineering organizations. Position is based in Oakland, CA. Candidates must be located in Oakland or the greater Bay Area and able to work onsite. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.
