HealthEdge is seeking an experienced Atlassian Platform Architect to design and establish a new Atlassian Cloud foundation as part of a strategic consolidation following recent mergers. This is a greenfield build with significant scope: you will design a new Jira Software Cloud instance from scratch, plan and execute migrations of multiple existing Jira instances into the consolidated platform, and establish governance models that balance standardization with team autonomy.
You will own the complete Atlassian architecture across the organization, serving both internal engineering teams and external customers through service portals. Key responsibilities include designing instance and tenancy architecture, project and workflow schemes, permission models, custom field strategies, and naming standards. You will lead the migration program, planning discovery and assessment phases, sequencing migration waves, and making cutover decisions. You will build and enforce a governance model with configuration standards, architecture review mechanisms, and change control processes.
The role requires architecting for regulated healthcare data from day one, including designing Atlassian Access (SSO, SCIM provisioning, authentication policies, IP allowlisting), permission architecture, and data residency that meets audit requirements while maintaining clear trust boundaries between internal and customer-facing systems. You will also own the AI layer, designing how Rovo, Atlassian Intelligence, and Claude are applied to knowledge management, search, ticket deflection, and administrative automation.
You will mentor architects and administrators across US, India, and Mexico locations, establishing reference architectures, decision records, and automation libraries. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in Atlassian Cloud architecture, proven experience leading large-scale migrations, and a track record of building governance frameworks that teams actually follow. Healthcare or regulated industry experience is strongly preferred.
