Mistral is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to drive the adoption and deployment of its AI products with enterprise customers. You will work across the full customer lifecycle—from pre-sales technical discussions through post-implementation support—managing relationships with diverse stakeholders (executives, data scientists, software engineers) and ensuring solutions meet client expectations.
In this role, you'll deploy state-of-the-art generative AI applications into production across high-impact use cases in finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector. You'll collaborate closely with Mistral's research, product, and engineering teams on complex projects involving advanced fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic systems, and contributions to open-source inference and fine-tuning codebases.
Key responsibilities include:
- Independently managing end-to-end deployment of production AI systems with significant business impact
- Participating in pre-sales calls to understand customer needs and provide technical guidance on Mistral's products and capabilities
- Working on cutting-edge GenAI applications spanning consumer and industrial use cases
- Collaborating with product and science teams to iterate on capabilities based on customer feedback
- Externalizing research into production settings and driving technological transformation for customers
You bring 7–10+ years as a technical individual contributor (data scientist or software engineer) with deep expertise in AI/ML systems. You have hands-on experience with fine-tuning LLMs, advanced RAG, agentic use cases, and deploying AI products at scale. You understand cloud infrastructure, ML algorithms, and LLM concepts deeply. You communicate complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Fluency in English and Korean (native) is required. A PhD/Master's in AI/Data Science or equivalent self-taught expertise is expected. Open-source contributions and experience as a Forward Deployed or Staff-level ML engineer are valued.
