Via Transportation is seeking a Launch Associate Principal to lead the launch and scaling of new transit services across markets. This is a hybrid role based in New York City or San Francisco, requiring up to 50% travel. In this role, you will serve as the operational leader for Via's newest service launches in high-visibility markets. You will own the full lifecycle of each launch—from technology implementation and operational setup through long-term service performance. You will lead a 30+ person team of field operators and drivers, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and culture-building. You will define and manage KPIs spanning on-time performance, rider satisfaction, safety, and cost efficiency, translating weekly and monthly performance data into actionable decisions. You will manage complex stakeholder relationships with transit agency partners (public entities with boards and elected officials), community stakeholders, local officials, and riders. You will drive continuous improvement across vehicle operations, maintenance protocols, and service delivery, identifying and executing cost and efficiency improvements that strengthen margins without compromising service quality. You will also influence the product roadmap for Via's newest product lines, sitting at the intersection of operational strategy and execution. This is a generalist leadership role offering exposure across strategy, operations, product, and technology. You will be setting up operational systems from the ground up in new markets, and your decisions will shape how those markets run for years to come. REQUIREMENTS: - Minimum 3+ years of experience in operations, consulting, strategy, tech, or a field with meaningful client accountability and demonstrated ability to lead large projects and develop teams - Ownership mentality: ability to plan ahead, manage risks, design preventive processes, and take full accountability for outcomes - Leadership instinct and experience: ability to motivate and inspire individuals from frontline drivers to transit agency CEOs - Effective multitasking: ability to delegate, prioritize, and take responsibility across competing demands - Attention to detail and operational judgment: comfort with both spreadsheets and field work - Partner and stakeholder sophistication: ability to manage complex, high-stakes relationships not fully within your control - Mission alignment: genuine embrace of serving public agencies and communities with limited transportation options - Flexibility and adaptability: comfort with rapid change and solving problems on the fly
