Anduril Industries is seeking a Laser Test Engineer to ensure their advanced defense systems meet stringent quality standards. You will own test activities across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkouts to component-level validation, with responsibility for production test flow and hands-on troubleshooting of complex infrared systems.
Key responsibilities include maintaining test capabilities and equipment calibration, developing test automation software and data analytics tools, and creating clear work instructions for technician teams. You'll generate libraries of common failure modes with troubleshooting guides, perform root cause analysis on product failures, and recommend corrective actions. Collaboration is essential—you'll work with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to support customer returns and failure analysis, while providing feedback on early-stage product testing.
You'll analyze test data, document results, and deliver detailed reports identifying defects and improvement areas. A core focus is optimizing test strategies for efficiency without compromising quality, reducing test time through continuous improvement initiatives. You'll also support new product introduction (NPI) by contributing to early-stage test design and collaborating with design engineers to recommend product enhancements based on test outcomes.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical/Electronics, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering. You need 3+ years of manufacturing test and product sustainment experience, proficiency with MATLAB and Python for data acquisition and processing, and expertise in test automation and report generation. Strong root cause analysis skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience integrating electrical, opto-mechanical, and software/firmware systems are essential. U.S. Secret security clearance eligibility is required.
