Spore.Bio is a deeptech startup (founded 2023) building next-generation microbiological quality control systems for food & beverage, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. The company uses advanced optical imaging and deep-learning technologies to detect bacterial contamination within seconds—replacing slow, traditional quality control methods. You will be the Labelling Project Manager, owning the annotation engine at the heart of the AI pipeline. This is an operational and strategic role bridging scientific domain knowledge and ML production requirements. You will design workflows, standards, and systems that determine the quality of training data for microbiological detection models and the reliability of what the company delivers to customers. Key Responsibilities: • Demand & Project Management: Intake and prioritize annotation demand from ML and R&D teams; translate into sprint-level plans. Own end-to-end annotation workflows including task scoping, assignment, QC checkpoints, and delivery. Manage relationships with external annotation vendors, ensuring quality and on-time delivery. Escalate and resolve blockers when deliverables slip. • Standards & Quality: Represent annotation guidelines and strategy (defined by R&D) to internal and external labelling teams. Flag ambiguity or edge cases back to R&D rather than resolving them unilaterally. Own and maintain the annotation dashboard and KPI tracking. Proactively escalate quality or capacity risks. • Team Coordination: Work closely with the QC Specialist and internal/external labelling teams. Build simple tools to streamline requests (e.g., Google Forms) as needed. You will join a team of R&D experts, engineers, and data scientists in a collaborative, fast-growing environment. The role offers flexible remote work (if based in Paris, work from office or home with no constraints), remote work equipment budget, Gymlib subscription, premium health insurance (Alan), meal card (Swile), and quarterly in-person team gatherings. REQUIREMENTS: - Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Data Science, or related field; OR Bachelor's degree with strong demonstrated motivation and relevant experience - 3–4 years of project management experience, ideally with a data or technical component (prior data labelling experience is a plus, not required) - Comfortable operating in a scientific or biological environment without needing deep technical expertise - Highly organized and rigorous; takes notes and sends meeting recaps without being asked - Resourceful and comfortable with everyday office and productivity tools (Google Forms, trackers, etc.); no advanced technical skills needed - Strong communicator able to bridge scientific and technical teams - Comfortable with ambiguity in early-stage, fast-growing environments - Assertive enough to push back and hold teams accountable - Fluent in English and French - Strong project management capabilities; able to handle multiple concurrent workstreams - Systematic thinker with a continuous-improvement mindset
