Hims & Hers, a leading public health and wellness platform (NYSE: HIMS), is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the clinical/core laboratory in South Plainfield, New Jersey. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely testing and regulatory compliance while maintaining a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
You will supervise laboratory staff, including technologists, technicians, and assistants, managing their scheduling, workload distribution, performance evaluation, and ongoing training. You'll ensure all laboratory activities comply with CLIA, Joint Commission, and other applicable regulatory standards, and oversee quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing programs.
Key responsibilities include: supervising daily operations including test performance and specimen handling; monitoring and maintaining QC/QA programs; training and mentoring staff while maintaining competency documentation; developing and implementing standard operating procedures; investigating testing anomalies and equipment malfunctions; collaborating with user experience teams to improve operations; participating in instrument validation and method verification; managing reagent and supply inventory; and preparing operational reports and performance metrics.
You'll work Tuesday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, and Saturday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field, current ASCP certification (or equivalent) as a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist, minimum 4+ years of clinical laboratory experience (preferably chemistry/hematology), and at least 2 years of supervisory or lead technologist experience. Proficiency with laboratory information systems and data analysis tools is essential. Experience with core laboratory platforms (Hamilton, Sysmex, Roche analyzers) is preferred.
