KAYAK, part of Booking Holdings, is a leading global travel search engine processing billions of queries annually. The company operates a portfolio of metasearch brands including momondo, Cheapflights, and HotelsCombined, integrating with over 200 travel partners and linking to 500,000+ hotels and 550 airlines.
The Search team is seeking a Java backend developer to implement new features and maintain KAYAK's world-leading search and booking technology. You will work on systems that help millions of people find flights, hotels, rental cars, and vacation packages daily.
In this role, you will implement new backend search and booking features under the guidance of senior engineers, collaborate with the team to improve existing features with focus on speed and user experience, and assist in creating and maintaining integrations with third-party APIs.
Required qualifications include a degree in Computer Science or related field, 2+ years of professional Java experience, familiarity with Spring framework and SQL databases, fluent English communication, and willingness to learn in a collaborative environment. You must be able to work from the Kaunas office at least 3 days per week.
Bonus skills include exposure to Elasticsearch or similar search technologies.
Compensation includes base pay of €2,700–€3,990 gross monthly, approximately 10% yearly bonus, and a Booking Holdings RSU package worth $20,000 USD gross with potential yearly refreshes.
