Anthropic's Endpoint team (Client Platform Engineering) is seeking a Mobile Client Platform Engineer to design and implement a corporate-issued mobile device program from the ground up. This is a high-autonomy role where you'll own the entire lifecycle of mobile device management across all regions where Anthropic operates.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing the corporate mobile device program: device standards, issuance policies, and regional rollout strategy
- Managing global logistics of hardware procurement, regional coverage, spares, and refresh cycles
- Implementing configuration-as-code for mobile policies using the team's existing CI/CD pipeline
- Building zero-touch enrollment for iOS (Apple Business Manager/ADE) and Android equivalents
- Owning policy, compliance, and device lifecycle management from issuance through wipe
- Developing fleet telemetry systems to track device check-in status, OS/patch state, and configuration drift
- Managing app distribution and updates across the corporate fleet
- Partnering with Corporate Security on device posture, trust signals, and international travel device programs
- Defining how corporate-issued and BYOD devices coexist as the program scales
You should have 8+ years managing corporate mobile fleets at thousands-of-devices scale, with deep expertise in iOS device management (enrollment flows, Apple Business Manager, ADE, APNs, certificate lifecycle, declarative device management). You'll need hands-on experience with Android device management, self-hosted MDM infrastructure (not just SaaS console administration), and treating device configuration as code. Experience building and launching corporate device programs (not just operating them) is essential. You should excel at ambiguous cross-functional problems, communicate technical concepts clearly, and view IT engineering as requiring product engineering rigor.
Technical skills required: Python and shell scripting, iOS and Android platform internals, modern MDM/UEM platforms (Jamf, Intune, Workspace ONE), infrastructure management (self-hosted servers, AWS/GCP, Terraform), fleet-scale device state querying, mobile device lifecycle automation, GitOps/CI for configuration management, and endpoint security fundamentals.
Strong candidates may also have ChromeOS experience, multi-region device program management, automated progressive rollout systems, Swift proficiency for device tooling, or experience using LLMs to automate operational work.
