Anthropic is hiring an IT Support Engineer to join its IT Operations team in Zurich. The role combines hands-on technical support with a service mindset and process improvement focus. You'll support a fast-growing organization with a primarily macOS environment, handling day-to-day IT issues while contributing to automation and scaling initiatives. Key responsibilities include triaging and resolving hardware, software, networking, and account issues across macOS, ChromeOS, iOS, Android, and core SaaS platforms (Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, Atlassian). You'll troubleshoot device enrollment and configuration, manage access and employee lifecycle workflows (onboarding, offboarding, reorganizations), and handle escalations requiring cross-team coordination. The role includes on-call rotation for urgent after-hours issues, hands-on support for user technology and conference room systems, and clear communication with users at all technical levels. You'll write and maintain internal documentation including runbooks and knowledge base articles, identify patterns in support requests to surface automation opportunities, and contribute to streamlining high-volume operations as the company scales. Additional responsibilities include maintaining device management and identity/access systems, and writing scripts in Bash or Python to automate repetitive tasks. This is not a scripted support role—you'll have real ownership, use your judgment to improve processes, and grow into more technical infrastructure work over time. You'll work closely with IT Engineering and Security teams. Minimum qualifications: - Hands-on IT support experience in a fast-paced environment - Experience supporting macOS endpoints; comfortable supporting ChromeOS, iOS, and Android - Experience with Google Workspace administration - Experience with Slack administration (workspace management, permissions, troubleshooting) - Experience supporting and administering other SaaS tools - Understanding of identity and access fundamentals: SSO, MFA, directory services - Familiarity with MDM fundamentals and endpoint management concepts - Basic scripting (Bash or Python) for automation - Strong troubleshooting skills with methodical and persistent approach - Clear communicator who enjoys helping people solve problems - Ability to take ownership of problems and follow through until resolved - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience in a field relevant to the role Preferred qualifications: - Familiarity with zero-trust security concepts and endpoint security tooling - Networking basics: DNS, DHCP, VPNs - Experience with IT projects beyond day-to-day support (migrations, tool rollouts, process redesigns) - Experience using AI tools to improve personal or team productivity - Interest in developing deeper technical skills and taking on more complex systems administration over time
