DataGrail is hiring an IT & Business Systems Manager to independently own IT operations and business systems for a remote-first, growing SaaS company. You'll report to the VP of Engineering and operate with significant autonomy, building modern IT infrastructure that scales without proportional manual overhead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own endpoint management, identity systems, and SaaS application footprint for the distributed workforce, including provisioning, deprovisioning, and monthly renewal inventory reviews.
- Deliver hands-on technical support across the company, setting the standard for fast, first-call resolution.
- Run complete device and account lifecycle management for onboarding and offboarding, ensuring smooth new-hire experiences and clean exits.
- Partner with Security to build and maintain access controls, endpoint policies, and audit trails required for ISO 27001 compliance.
- Execute hands-on security workstreams alongside the security engineer, including tooling rollouts and access reviews.
- Build automation and self-service tooling to reduce manual ticket volume while maintaining strong controls and visibility.
- Administer the Apple-based fleet end-to-end, from MDM policy to OS upgrades to hardware lifecycle.
- Manage vendor relationships and SaaS vendor management processes, maintaining accurate records and ensuring technology spend aligns with long-term strategy.
- Partner proactively across functions to surface IT needs, align priorities, and serve as a reliable point of contact.
What You'll Bring:
- Proven senior-level experience independently owning a distributed, remote-first IT environment at a similar-sized company, spanning endpoints, identity, and business applications with full accountability.
- Track record of operating with high autonomy, setting direction for the function, and making independent judgment calls with minimal oversight.
- Hands-on experience administering MDM platforms (Kandji, Jamf, Hexnode) and Apple hardware/OS in enterprise settings.
- Strong understanding of identity and access management tools like Okta and their intersection with security and compliance.
- Experience building or maturing security and compliance controls, such as endpoint compliance or access reviews, ideally supporting ISO 27001.
- Comfort executing security initiatives you didn't design, including vulnerability remediation, tooling rollouts, and access reviews.
- Track record of automating manual IT workflows through scripting or self-service tooling to reduce ticket volume and improve consistency.
- Scripting experience in Python and familiarity with Claude Code and other AI tooling for building automation and supporting Security functions.
- Experience managing IT vendor relationships and technology spend against a formal vendor management process.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including ability to translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus: ISO 27001 certification or direct experience supporting an ISO audit; prior IT experience in regulated industries or SaaS companies handling sensitive data.
