Moss is a Finance AI platform for Europe's mid-sized businesses, automating card issuing, invoice management, and expenses. The company has raised €200+ million, operates across Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, and further EU markets, and serves 5,000+ businesses including Flink, Schufa, Gusto, and Auto1.
You will be the IT Program Manager reporting to the CISO, owning how Moss buys, manages, and retires technology across a 350-person organization with five offices. This is a central role in Tech Operations, working closely with IT engineers, Information Security, Legal, People Ops, and FP&A.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own vendor and contract negotiations across SaaS, tooling, infrastructure, and connectivity providers. Run competitive evaluations, maintain the renewal calendar and contract repository, and build commercial leverage.
- Plan and steer the Tech Operations budget, creating cost transparency per team and driving license right-sizing, optimization, and consolidation across the tool estate.
- Partner with teams to understand actual tool usage, match license tiers to real usage patterns, and decide which overlapping tools to retain based on genuine value rather than cost alone.
- Reduce tool sprawl by identifying shadow IT, bringing it into formal processes, and consolidating redundant systems. Own retirement work with Information Security.
- Lead company-wide technology migrations and retirements end-to-end: business case development, migration planning, cutover execution, communication, and training.
- Build structure around Tech Operations intake, establishing a clear process and owning KPIs and monthly management reporting.
- Work with Legal on contracts and Data Processing Agreements, and with People Ops on joiner/leaver processes. Own the commercial relationship and vendor negotiations within Moss's Vendor Management framework.
Moss operates a vibrant, collaborative culture with 300+ people from 50+ nationalities. The company offers top-of-market compensation including equity, 20 days "work from abroad," €600 Learning & Development budget, and local benefits. Weekly breakfasts and Friday demos anchor the in-person culture across five European offices.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Several years of experience in IT vendor management, procurement, sourcing, tech operations, or IT service management, ideally in a scaling company.
- Proven experience negotiating with vendors and providers, including on service levels and cost.
- Experience leading at least one company-wide tool migration or consolidation end-to-end, including decommissioning the old system.
- Hands-on IT background sufficient to keep essential services running from documented runbooks in an emergency.
- AI is core to how Moss works. You must demonstrate an "AI Driver" toolkit: measurable, real-workflow AI use with concrete before/after impact, ideally including built automations or agents (n8n, Claude skills, or similar).
- German language at C1 or above.
- Plus factors: prior experience in a regulated environment (financial services, payments, or e-money); exposure to ISO 27001, SOC 2, or DORA; or ITIL/IAITAM qualification.
Desired attributes:
- Talent for moving things forward through clarity and good process rather than hierarchy.
- Comfortable owning commercial outcomes inside a governance framework someone else owns.
- Genuine curiosity about how other teams work, translating that into better commercial decisions than dashboards alone would suggest.
- Structured, documentation-friendly working style with an instinct for turning manual work into self-running processes.
