The company simplifies payments infrastructure for digital product companies across 245 territories. You will lead Paddle's IT team, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on technical work. This role requires operating at two levels simultaneously: setting IT strategy, managing budget and vendor relationships, and developing people, while remaining willing to engage directly with complex technical challenges. Key responsibilities include: - Lead, coach, and develop a lean team of IT engineers, setting priorities, unblocking problems, and stepping in hands-on for complex or escalated issues - Own Okta identity and access management for the business, including lifecycle management, integrations, and day-to-day administration for joiners, movers, and leavers - Own macOS and Apple device management and endpoint tooling across the business, ensuring security by default with low friction for employees - Drive adoption of data, automation, and AI across IT operations to identify where tooling and agents can remove manual work and evolve team operations - Set and own IT's operating rhythm, including support tooling, SLAs, and metrics that demonstrate functional improvement - Manage IT budget and vendor portfolio, evaluating spend, negotiating commercial terms, and ensuring efficient SaaS estate management across departments - Implement and maintain baseline security and resilience practices for IT-owned systems (CIS Benchmarks, patching, disaster recovery), partnering with the Security team on security engineering matters - Act as conduit between IT and the business, translating department needs into IT capabilities Paddle offers a digital-first, hybrid work environment with unlimited holidays, 4 months paid family leave, stock options, private healthcare, and an annual learning fund. REQUIREMENTS: - Proven track record leading or managing a technical IT team with demonstrated ability to develop people and deliver outcomes - Strong systems administration and infrastructure fundamentals; technically credible as an escalation point for complex issues - Hands-on production experience running an IAM platform, ideally Okta, including lifecycle automation and integrations - In-depth knowledge of macOS and Apple hardware, ideally in corporate/enterprise environments (Jamf or equivalent) - Demonstrated excitement about AI and automation as operational leverage tools, with examples of using them or data/workflows to change team operations - Ability to manage budgets and vendor relationships commercially: evaluating cost, negotiating terms, maximizing tool/platform value - Experience running IT projects end-to-end from scoping through delivery and stakeholder reporting - Understanding of core security and compliance fundamentals sufficient to implement and maintain them - Clear communication skills, adapting messaging for technical peers and non-technical senior stakeholders - Strong leadership under pressure (incidents, competing priorities, escalations)
