Flywire is seeking a Client Platform Engineer II based in Valencia to lead endpoint management using modern infrastructure-as-code principles. Rather than traditional IT support, this role treats device lifecycle management—provisioning, compliance, patching, and offboarding—as an automated, code-driven system similar to cloud infrastructure engineering.
You will report to the IT Client Platform Engineering Manager in Spain and collaborate closely with the team lead in the US. The role emphasizes systems thinking, declarative automation, idempotency, and self-service workflows. You'll have full autonomy to build quality, maintainable code and shape Flywire's global endpoint strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Automating provisioning, configuration, and patching workflows across a global fleet (~90% macOS, ~10% Windows)
- Writing clean, reusable, well-tested scripts in Python, Bash, and PowerShell to power endpoint management
- Enforcing security baselines, tracking real-time fleet performance, and investigating compliance anomalies using modern MDM tools (Iru/Kandji)
- Integrating platforms like Okta, Iru, and FleetDM via APIs to streamline identity, access, and self-service IT workflows
- Building and maintaining idempotent automation pipelines using Infrastructure as Code principles
The tech stack includes Iru (MDM), FleetDM (observability), Okta (identity), Terraform and Ansible (IaC), Python/Bash/PowerShell (scripting), AWS, and GitLab.
Flywire is a global payments platform company founded to solve high-stakes payments in education, now serving 3,300+ clients across education, healthcare, travel, and B2B in 240+ countries. The company has 1,000+ employees across 14 offices worldwide.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in client platform engineering, endpoint engineering, or highly technical IT infrastructure/SRE roles
- Deep knowledge of macOS system internals and preference management; solid hands-on experience securing Windows endpoints
- Proven track record with MDM platforms and solid programming skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Comfortable with Git/GitLab workflows, code review, and branch-based development
- Nice-to-haves: Terraform experience, SaaS administration (Okta, Google Workspace, Jira), or AWS cloud infrastructure familiarity
