Okta is seeking an IT Automation and AI Engineer to join its internal AI transformation team in Bengaluru. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building sophisticated agentic workflows that power Okta's global workforce automation.
You will own the implementation of core features using LangGraph and Gemini Enterprise to create stateful, reasoning-capable systems. Key responsibilities include developing multi-agent systems for complex business tasks, integrating and optimizing LLM interactions with a focus on prompt engineering and structured outputs, designing agent state and memory management with human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and writing production-grade Python code for APIs and services.
Additional focus areas include building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines to ground agents in real-time enterprise context, deploying services on GCP using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, and promoting engineering best practices around testing, security, and CI/CD.
You should bring 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience with deep Python proficiency, hands-on experience with LangGraph or similar frameworks, practical experience with frontier LLMs like Gemini or GPT-4, solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures, and the ability to drive prototypes to production with minimal oversight. Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills are essential.
