Salary: GBP 75,000 - 200,000 / annual
Axle Energy is building software infrastructure for the decarbonized energy system, controlling hundreds of thousands of energy assets (vehicle charging, heating systems, home batteries) to shift usage to times when electricity is cheap and green. The company is backed by leading investors including Energize Capital and Accel and operates at startup speed in a legacy industry.
You will lead Axle's international expansion strategy, assessing future markets and business models from first principles. This is a full-stack operator role combining strategic thinking, regulatory deep-dives, and hands-on execution.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute high-level international expansion strategy, defining commercial value of new markets and business models
- Conduct in-depth policy and regulatory analysis to understand market access requirements
- Build zero-to-one business through partnerships with grid operators, utilities, retailers, and potential clients; validate hypotheses rapidly through direct engagement
- Execute implementation as international operations scale: scope pilots, establish partnerships, build stakeholder relationships, and drive market entry at speed
You will work across technical information, identify commercial opportunities, and navigate complex regulatory environments. The role requires someone who has built things, developed new relationships, and delivered ambitious projects in complex settings. Domain-specific expertise is less important than demonstrated growth potential and ability to execute in uncertain environments.
