Runlayer is a platform for managing AI agents, MCPs (Model Context Protocol), and skills with enterprise-grade security, governance, and observability. The company recently raised $30M Series A and is trusted by companies like Gusto, Instacart, and Cursor.
As an Integrations Engineer, you'll own the full lifecycle of integrations across AI clients, agent frameworks, and MCP servers. Your responsibilities include:
- Design, build, launch, monitor, and debug connectors for major AI clients (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) ensuring first-class support through Runlayer's control plane.
- Implement identity, governance, and observability for agents built on any agent development kit (Claude Agent SDK, OpenAI Agents SDK, LangGraph, Google ADK).
- Maintain reliability of 50+ third-party MCP connectors by catching upstream breaks and auth regressions before customers encounter them.
- Build and maintain the OAuth 2.1 broker (TypeScript/Express service) managing OAuth flows for third-party servers.
- Create scaffolding and validation tooling to streamline integration publishing with minimal manual work.
- Own operational excellence: coverage smoke-tests, monitoring, incident response, and fast debugging under customer pressure.
- Work cross-functionally with product, partnerships, and customers to shape the integrations function as it scales.
You should have 5+ years building integrations, SDKs, or developer-platform connectors with expert-level OAuth 2.1 knowledge. Deep familiarity with the agent ecosystem (MCP servers, agent frameworks, transports, tool schemas) is essential. Strong TypeScript and Python skills, experience building integration test suites against real third-party APIs, and an operational mindset focused on production reliability are required. You should have maintained integration catalogs with versioning and deprecation patterns, and actively delegate work to AI agents in your daily workflow.
Bonus qualifications include MCP spec contributions, experience scaling partner/integrations functions, and familiarity with enterprise identity (SSO, SCIM) and policy enforcement.
