Scale is seeking an Infrastructure Software Engineer to join the Apps Platform Infrastructure team in London. In this role, you'll design and evolve deployment and observability layers for a multi-cloud, multi-environment platform serving enterprise and government customers. Key responsibilities include: - Expanding platform deployment footprint across on-premises, AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, and beyond - Ensuring fast, secure, and reproducible deployments across all supported cloud providers and on-premises environments - Building comprehensive observability tooling to enable forward-deployed infrastructure teams to operate customer deployments efficiently - Partnering closely with internal product and deployment teams to understand their needs, debug issues, and develop solutions - Responding to production incidents with urgency, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures - Developing and maintaining the deployment and observability product roadmap - Leading architecture reviews and owning projects end-to-end in cross-functional settings Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of experience building and deploying enterprise and public sector solutions across multiple cloud platforms and on-premises environments. Deep expertise in infrastructure design, networking (VPNs, load balancers, firewalls), and proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI) are essential. Experience with GitOps deployments, strong debugging skills, and comfort navigating performance/security tradeoffs in production systems are required. Nice-to-have qualifications include founder or early-stage infrastructure startup experience, exposure to secure multi-tenant or untrusted environments, open-source contributions to systems or developer tools, and a track record of on-call incident response.
