Salary: USD 178,400 - 342,000 / annual

Scale is seeking a highly technical Infrastructure Security Engineer to join the Public Sector Infrastructure & Security team. This role focuses on securing large-scale cloud environments, orchestrating and securing compute clusters, and reviewing infrastructure-as-code implementations. Key responsibilities include: - Securing infrastructure across major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) - Implementing and maintaining robust security configurations and policies - Conducting regular security assessments and vulnerability audits - Developing and enforcing security best practices for infrastructure automation and orchestration - Reviewing and securing infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) - Collaborating with Developer Experience, IT, and product teams to integrate security throughout the infrastructure lifecycle - Mentoring team members on infrastructure security best practices and emerging threats Required qualifications: - Active Top Secret security clearance (mandatory) Preferred qualifications: - Proven experience as a Security Engineer with infrastructure security focus - Proficiency in NodeJS, TypeScript, Python, and/or Kubernetes - Strong understanding of modern JavaScript application design - Production experience with Kubernetes-backed services - Hands-on experience with SAST and DAST tools and methodologies - Terraform orchestration experience - Ability to independently structure complex problems and diagnose root causes - Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences - Demonstrated ability to influence security strategies and drive improvements - Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CEH, OSCP) a plus This is a full-time position with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision coverage, retirement benefits, learning stipend, and generous PTO.
