Simile is a simulation platform that uses AI to model human behavior at scale, helping enterprises make data-driven decisions on product launches, market entry, and forecasting. Founded five months ago, the company has already achieved $200M in funding at a $2B valuation and serves F100 clients including CVS Health, Wealthfront, Deloitte, and Gallup. The Infrastructure team is the backbone of Simile's platform, responsible for building foundational systems that enable AI agents to operate securely and reliably at scale. The team operates at the intersection of high-scale cloud networking, distributed systems, and enterprise-grade privacy. As an Infrastructure Engineer (Member of Technical Staff), you will own the infrastructure roadmap from design through operation, ensuring the platform is resilient, compliant, and ready for global scale. Key responsibilities include: - Architect multi-region, multi-cloud environments across AWS and GCP to support global data residency, failover requirements, and enterprise deployments. - Enable engineering velocity by partnering with Product Engineering, Research, and Security teams to build internal tooling and "paved paths" that accelerate development and empower engineers to ship with confidence. - Own enterprise connectivity by building and automating secure networking solutions including VPC peering, PrivateLink, and dedicated interconnects for customer-managed environments. - Drive reliability by setting and maintaining strict SLOs, optimizing networking paths and resource allocation to ensure real-time AI features meet latency targets. - Champion GitOps practices by managing the entire stack via Terraform/Pulumi, ensuring code is the source of truth across all environments. - Implement security-by-design principles, focusing on encryption at rest/transit and identity management (SAML/SCIM) to meet SOC2 and HIPAA compliance standards. Required qualifications: 5+ years building production-grade infrastructure in high-growth environments; deep AWS expertise with GCP or Azure experience as a plus; strong networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, service meshes, VPC routing); proven track record with Infrastructure-as-Code tools at scale; experience with modern observability platforms; and strong technical communication skills. Nice-to-have skills include AI/ML infrastructure experience (especially high-throughput inference and GPU-accelerated computing) and Kubernetes mastery (EKS/GKE) with multi-tenant security expertise.
