Thought Machine is building modern banking technology to replace legacy systems at banks worldwide. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in deploying and maintaining Thought Machine's cloud-native core and payments technology. You'll work on building reliable, scalable applications and developing tools that enable both internal engineers and bank SREs to operate and integrate with Vault (Thought Machine's platform).
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the engineering team in building reliable, scalable applications
- Designing and building tools to make services scalable and highly available, with a focus on automation
- Developing observability and orchestration tooling to allow customers to monitor and manage their deployments
- Contributing to disaster recovery, backup, and redundancy tooling and strategy
- Improving codebase quality through new tools and processes
The role spans infrastructure automation, deployment pipeline development, data and streaming platform support, and integration with third-party infrastructure components used in customer environments.

Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical field
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience
- Production-ready infrastructure management tooling experience with Python or Golang
- Familiarity with at least one of: Observability Tools (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana), Databases (Postgres, DuckDB), Event Streaming platforms (Kafka), or Container Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab, GitHub Actions)
Desirable:
- Experience supporting production systems in high-consistency transactional environments
