The Data Infrastructure Team builds foundational data systems powering products, decision-making, risk capabilities, and company strategy. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will design, build, and operate scalable data platforms handling high-volume ingestion, transformation, storage, and access patterns. Key responsibilities include architecting a partner data sharing platform for secure external data exchange, building core components of Imprint's identity graph to unify customer and transaction signals, and developing systems that improve data quality, lineage, observability, and governance.
You will partner across Data, Risk, Product, Engineering, Security, and Compliance teams to define secure, auditable platform capabilities. You'll build abstractions and tooling enabling engineers and analysts to safely create, discover, and share data at scale. The role involves solving complex problems around entity resolution, data freshness, schema evolution, access control, and privacy boundaries while balancing latency, correctness, cost, and operational complexity.
Required: 5+ years building data platforms, distributed systems, or backend infrastructure at scale. Strong production data pipeline experience with modern frameworks and orchestration tools. Deep knowledge of data modeling, quality, schema management, lineage, observability, and governance. Cloud-based data infrastructure experience (object storage, warehouses, lakehouse, streaming, compute). Proven ability designing systems with complex data access, privacy, security, and compliance requirements. Backend fundamentals in Python, Java, Scala, Go, or Kotlin. Experience building multi-customer platforms with thoughtful APIs and documentation. Strong systems thinking, analytical problem-solving, and cross-functional communication. Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent.
Nice-to-have: partner-facing data platform experience, identity resolution or entity matching expertise, regulated/compliance environment experience (fintech, banking, payments, SOC, PCI), streaming platform expertise.
