Paylocity, a leading cloud-based HR and payroll software provider, is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join its Product & Technology team. This fully remote role is responsible for implementing, supporting, and maintaining virtualization, compute, and storage systems in on-premises datacenter environments that power the company's SaaS platform. You will contribute to medium to large infrastructure projects alongside senior engineers, focusing on the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of highly available infrastructure components. Key responsibilities include implementing and administering geographically distributed datacenter infrastructure to support availability, scalability, and performance; preparing and executing planned infrastructure changes while communicating updates to stakeholders; and collaborating with cross-functional teams including product and engineering to implement solutions that support the SaaS service catalog. You will work with development teams to improve infrastructure performance, support automation efforts, and enable scalable solutions aligned with CI/CD pipelines. The role requires monitoring infrastructure health using alerting and monitoring tools like Datadog, Nagios, and PagerDuty to identify and resolve issues proactively. You will develop and maintain automation scripts using infrastructure as code (IaC) principles, participate in peer reviews of configuration changes, and assist with capacity planning for physical and virtual infrastructure components. On-call rotation participation is required to respond to infrastructure incidents and perform maintenance. You will support data integrity efforts within SaaS platforms by following established validation, testing, and data management practices. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience), and 3–5+ years of experience in systems implementation and support in complex, high-performance environments. You must have strong working knowledge of converged compute platforms (Cisco UCS, HPE Synergy, Dell PowerEdge MX), Fiber Channel SAN environments (MDS), VMware technologies (vSphere, ESXi), and enterprise block storage platforms (Pure FlashArray, Dell EMC PowerMax). Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, REST APIs, Ansible), infrastructure monitoring systems, and networking across OSI layers is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams are critical.
