Adzuna is a job search engine with tens of millions of monthly visitors, operating since 2011 from West London with distributed remote teams. The company is expanding its AI-powered tools for job seekers and modernizing its infrastructure platform.
You will architect and manage containerized environments with a focus on Kubernetes orchestration and AWS cloud infrastructure. The role bridges cloud infrastructure and business needs, translating requirements into technical solutions while flagging roadblocks early. You'll own deployment, scaling, and day-to-day management of Kubernetes clusters using ArgoCD and Helm, and design CI/CD pipelines for microservices production deployment.
Approximately one-third of your time will focus on the container-first platform built on AWS EKS; two-thirds will involve migrating services from the legacy EC2/Chef-managed estate. In the first year, you'll move job ingestion and search services to Kubernetes and retire the last Chef-managed machine images.
Key responsibilities include writing Terraform to manage AWS resources, automating manual and repetitive work, building monitoring and logging using Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, and CloudWatch, ensuring high uptime, optimizing cloud costs, and partnering with engineering teams to accelerate development cycles.
The tech stack includes Perl, Python, Terraform, Chef, React, AWS (EC2, S3, EKS, Lambda, RDS, Athena, Kinesis, SES), PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SOLR. You'll work autonomously while communicating clearly with a distributed team, with a strong commercial mindset focused on business outcomes and ROI.
