Salary: USD 116,000 - 174,000 / annual
Pacific Fusion, founded in 2023 and backed by over $900M in funding, is building a pulser-driven inertial fusion system to achieve net facility gain and develop affordable fusion energy solutions. As Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, you will oversee the integration of facility electrical equipment for the nuclear fusion demonstration system, working across multiple teams to enable net facility gain achievement.
Your responsibilities span the full lifecycle: developing facility electrical equipment requirements and guidelines for electrical infrastructure, building systems, backup power, and energy management; assisting in design and development of building electrical systems; interfacing with engineers, scientists, and technicians to gather facility electrical inputs; collaborating with the Infrastructure Design Team to ensure systems are properly documented and designed for permitting, construction, commissioning, and operations; developing commissioning, maintenance, and operations plans; and overseeing operation, maintenance, and future upgrades of building electrical systems.
During the design and permitting phase, you will travel up to 50% to the San Leandro, CA facility. You bring a BS in Electrical Engineering and minimum 7+ years of experience in design, construction, facility operations, and commissioning for industrial, manufacturing, or research facilities. You have hands-on experience with medium and low voltage AC systems, high voltage DC systems, and knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E standards. Strong multidisciplinary program management skills, ability to work across cross-functional teams, proactive self-starter mindset, and a track record of driving results are essential. Bonus qualifications include PE license, startup experience, and background in fusion, energy, aerospace, or chemical industries.
