Salary: USD 155,000 - 190,000 / annual
Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the next generation of energy-efficient data centers to power AI workloads. As an Infrastructure Design Engineer, you will lead the planning, design, and implementation of data center whitespace environments—the operational computing areas where servers, storage, and network equipment are deployed.
You'll own the full lifecycle of whitespace design, from initial layout and rack placement through final commissioning. Your responsibilities include designing rack configurations and aisle layouts optimized for equipment density, airflow strategy, and energy efficiency. You'll collaborate closely with Facilities, Electrical, Mechanical, and Cloud Infrastructure teams to integrate power distribution and cooling infrastructure that supports high availability and scalability.
Key technical work includes optimizing whitespace designs for capacity and redundancy (N+1, 2N configurations), ensuring compliance with industry standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute, ASHRAE), and developing CAD/BIM drawings and 3D models. You'll create capacity planning models to forecast infrastructure growth, validate design outcomes through post-occupancy evaluations, and provide technical guidance to internal teams and external partners.
You'll also support construction, installation, and deployment activities for new data center environments, participate in design reviews and risk assessments, and evaluate emerging technologies and modular designs to improve performance.
You bring 5+ years of data center design experience, preferably in cloud or hyperscale environments. You have deep knowledge of power distribution systems, UPS architectures, cooling/HVAC infrastructure, and structured cabling systems. You're proficient with CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Visio) and familiar with relevant industry standards. You can manage multiple projects simultaneously, collaborate across engineering disciplines, and are willing to travel to data center sites as needed.
