Impulse seeks an Infrastructure Administrator to own operational stability and continuous improvement of core infrastructure platforms supporting engineering, manufacturing, and corporate environments. This senior operational role bridges daily infrastructure operations and systems engineering, leading complex troubleshooting, executing advanced deployments, and improving platform resilience across hybrid datacenter and cloud environments.
Key responsibilities include:
Platform Ownership & Operations: Own day-to-day operation and reliability of assigned infrastructure platforms. Administer enterprise server environments across on-premises datacenters and cloud platforms. Maintain Windows and Linux systems supporting engineering and business workloads. Lead response and resolution efforts for complex infrastructure incidents, performing advanced troubleshooting across compute, identity, storage, and dependent services. Ensure systems maintain high availability and predictable performance.
Advanced Infrastructure Administration: Lead lifecycle management including upgrades, migrations, and platform modernization. Implement infrastructure changes aligned with engineering standards. Support expansion of datacenter and lab infrastructure environments. Validate system performance and operational readiness following deployments. Maintain configuration consistency across environments.
Automation & Operational Improvement: Develop and maintain automation to reduce manual operational work. Improve system provisioning and maintenance workflows. Identify recurring operational pain points and implement long-term solutions. Contribute to infrastructure standardization initiatives. Automation and repeatability are expected competencies at this level.
Incident Leadership & Reliability: Act as primary escalation point for infrastructure incidents. Coordinate cross-team troubleshooting with network and security engineering. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective improvements. Drive preventative maintenance and reliability enhancements.
Security & Compliance Alignment: Maintain infrastructure in accordance with cybersecurity and regulatory requirements. Implement secure configuration baselines and access control standards. Support audit activities and technical validation efforts. Ensure infrastructure handling aligns with controlled data and export requirements.
Documentation & Technical Leadership: Maintain accurate architectural and operational documentation. Develop and refine operational runbooks and standards. Mentor junior administrators and provide technical guidance. Promote operational discipline and consistent engineering practices.
Required qualifications: 3+ years experience administering enterprise infrastructure environments. Experience with Windows Server administration. Demonstrated administrative proficiency with Linux systems. Experience operating virtualization platforms in production environments. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex multi-system issues. Experience automating administrative workflows using scripting and Infrastructure as Code. Strong understanding of infrastructure dependencies and service architecture.
Technology environment includes Windows Server, Linux, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Intune, enterprise data storage, backup platforms, networking, scripting, and hybrid datacenter/cloud infrastructure.
