Salary: USD 80,000 - 100,000 / annual
BETA Technologies, an electric aviation company, is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support critical information security infrastructure. The role operates with minimal supervision and requires exceptional self-management and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain information security protocols
- Conduct security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and other relevant security frameworks
- Manage system accreditation and authorization processes
- Develop and update security documentation
- Perform periodic security audits and reporting
- Support incident response and mitigation efforts
- User account management: create, modify, delete accounts; manage access control implementation; maintain user access logs and permissions
- System maintenance and patching: manage and execute system updates and security patches; perform system configuration and installation; conduct hardware and software troubleshooting
- Backup and recovery operations: implement and test backup procedures; manage data recovery processes; maintain backup integrity and security
- Performance monitoring: conduct daily operational tasks including log reviews and health checks; monitor system performance and optimize resources; generate performance and security reports
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active Secret-level security clearance
- Minimum 3–5 years of information systems security and administration experience
- Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles and system administration
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong technical skills in system management and security
Desired Qualifications:
- CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) experience
- Previous DoD or government security experience
- Information Security certifications (CISSP, Security+, or equivalent)
- Experience with enterprise-level system management tools
- Proficiency in security and system administration tools
- Understanding of network and system security architecture
- Experience with risk management frameworks
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies
- Scripting and automation capabilities
- Ability to respond to urgent security and operational matters quickly
- Commitment to maintaining highest levels of system security and integrity
