OpenGov is seeking an Implementation Engineer III to lead technical delivery for complex government cloud software implementations. This senior role combines hands-on technical expertise with consultative customer partnership, owning end-to-end data migrations, platform configurations, and testing for the most complex deployments across U.S. government clients.
You will serve as a trusted technical advisor to government stakeholders (Budget Directors, IT personnel, decision-makers), translating their goals and workflows into scalable, maintainable solutions on the OpenGov ERP platform. Key responsibilities include leading data migrations and ETL processes, performing rigorous configuration and data reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance, designing comprehensive test scenarios, and validating requirements across both configuration and data domains.
Beyond delivery, you will mentor Associate and mid-level Implementation Engineers, review their technical work, and drive process improvements and standardization across the implementation team. You'll partner with Project Management, Customer Success, Data/Integration, and Product teams to ensure consistent customer experience and feed field insights into the product roadmap.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 6 to 9 years of experience in software implementation, data migration, or technical consulting, ideally with enterprise or SaaS products
- 5+ years of hands-on SQL scripting experience, including complex queries, data transformation, and reconciliation
- 3+ years of Python or similar scripting experience for automation and data processing
- Deep experience with database technologies, ETL, and data-migration concepts and tools, including schema design and performance considerations
- Experience implementing AI-driven solutions for automation, workflow optimization, and data-driven insights
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex implementations end to end and mentor less-experienced engineers
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with strong teamwork and customer-service mentality across executive and technical stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail with proven ability to validate, reconcile, and sign off on data and configuration for accuracy
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing product and respond strategically to evolving customer needs
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field
