OpenGov is seeking an Implementation Engineer II to lead complex cloud software implementations for government customers across the United States. This role owns end-to-end data migrations, platform configurations, and testing for the most sophisticated deployments, serving as a trusted technical advisor throughout the full deployment lifecycle from kickoff to go-live.
Key responsibilities include leading data migration and configuration for complex government implementations, performing configuration and data reviews to validate alignment with requirements and best practices, owning customer data migration end-to-end including database schema mapping and ETL tool configuration, designing and executing comprehensive test scenarios, and serving as the primary technical contact for government stakeholders including Budget Directors and IT personnel. The role also involves identifying recurring customer pain points, defining implementation standards and reusable tooling, and partnering with cross-functional teams to improve delivery efficiency and channel feedback into the product roadmap.
Required qualifications include 3-6 years of software implementation, data migration, or technical consulting experience (ideally with enterprise or SaaS products), 3+ years of hands-on SQL scripting experience with complex queries and data transformation, 3+ years of Python or similar scripting for automation and data processing, and deep experience with database technologies, ETL, and data-migration concepts. Candidates should have demonstrated ability to deliver complex implementations end-to-end, mentor less-experienced engineers, and provide technical guidance. Excellent communication skills across executive and technical stakeholders, strong attention to detail for data validation and reconciliation, and a Bachelor's degree in a technical field are required. Experience implementing AI-driven solutions for automation and workflow optimization is preferred.
