Salary: USD 97,000 - 110,000 / annual
OpenGov is seeking an Implementation Consultant to drive successful deployments of its AI and ERP platform for local and state governments across the U.S. You will manage end-to-end implementation projects for new customers, serving as the primary technical point of contact throughout the deployment lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee complete implementation projects, from data requirements gathering and platform configuration through administrator training and go-live support
- Act as the main technical liaison for government customers, ensuring smooth deployments and effective communication
- Work directly with government officials and staff daily, guiding them through implementation and enabling them to become proficient administrators
- Analyze customer requirements and pain points, collaborating cross-functionally to simplify and automate workflows
- Develop expertise in governmental processes across multiple states to deliver tailored solutions
- Partner with engagement and adoption teams to ensure consistent customer experience and deliver training
- Document and refine best practices for different data environments and customer verticals to improve future implementation efficiency
- Gather customer feedback and feature requests, contributing to product strategy discussions
- Serve as a trusted advisor to both customers and internal teams, providing insights based on domain expertise
OpenGov's platform serves over 2,000 government entities and includes solutions for enterprise asset management, procurement, accounting and budgeting, billing and revenue management, permitting and licensing, and transparency/open data.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 2 years of software implementation consulting experience or equivalent client-facing work
- Strong ability to analyze and report on large volumes of financial or relevant data with solid understanding of governmental concepts and practices
- Proficiency in training customers on software solutions for key workflows and business processes
- Clear and effective communication skills (phone, written, in-person) with ability to build positive customer relationships
- Strong conceptualization, pattern recognition, modeling, and design skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency including functions/formulas, data formatting (v-lookup, pivot tables), error-checking, and report creation
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments, manage procedures, drive process improvements, and collaborate effectively
- Ability to adapt quickly to product changes and respond strategically to customer needs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with commitment to exceptional customer service
- Preferred: Experience in public sector areas such as Procurement, Budgeting, Community Development, Asset Management, Finance/Accounting, or similar (not required)
