Kion is a Series A startup revolutionizing CloudOps and FinOps by delivering unified multicloud, multi-org, and multi-account visibility and controls through a centralized platform. The company is headquartered near Baltimore, MD and Washington DC but operates as a 100% remote-first organization.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the core product team, you will drive the evolution of Kion's platform with a focus on AI-powered capabilities. Your responsibilities include collaborating with designers and product managers to transform product ideas into user-friendly solutions, developing AI-powered features, and building/integrating Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, clients, and tools that connect AI models with Kion data and capabilities.
You will establish evaluation and observability practices for AI features, measuring accuracy, relevance, hallucination risk, token usage, latency, and customer impact. On the technical side, you'll contribute to architectural decisions across the full stack (Angular front-end, Go backend), build and maintain scalable front-end components and API services, and improve code quality through thoughtful engineering practices.
The role involves end-to-end ownership of features from planning through delivery, participation in estimation and scoping, and partnership with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth development lifecycles and high-quality deliverables. You'll work in a collaborative environment that values creativity and building products with real customer impact.
