Salary: USD 172,000 - 216,000 / annual
Archer is an aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft designed to carry four passengers with minimal noise. This role owns the integrated hybrid powertrain verification for Archer's next-generation aircraft platform.
You will take systems engineering inputs for a complex turboshaft/turbogenerator powertrain system—including batteries, motors, and mechanical subsystems—and lead verification through comprehensive testing. Responsibilities include owning turbogenerator verification from test-bench through aircraft integration and into the flight test campaign. You will contribute expert test and operational knowledge to design reviews, manage suppliers and engineering teams to ensure verification happens safely and on schedule, and coordinate with third-party stakeholders to meet delivery timelines.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring deep systems engineering expertise. You will work independently on critical technical initiatives while communicating complex technical rationale to multidisciplinary stakeholders across the organization.
Required qualifications: BS/MS/PhD in engineering or related scientific field; 10+ years of complex system verification experience; strong fundamentals in systems engineering; experience with industry-standard tools for turbine and electrical systems; systematic problem-solving approach; self-motivation and ability to lead technical initiatives independently; excellent written and verbal communication skills including technical report writing.
Nice-to-have experience includes hybrid-electric aircraft or eVTOL programs, turboshaft/turbine systems, FAA/EASA certification familiarity, and simulation model validation/calibration methods.
