Applied Intuition is seeking an experienced HIL Systems Integration Engineer to design, build, and bring up hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) benches that replicate vehicle electrical/electronic (E/E) architecture. This role sits at the intersection of hardware and software, requiring hands-on integration of ECUs, wiring harnesses, instrumentation, and test automation across a fleet of HIL benches.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead system-level integration and bring-up of HIL benches that replicate vehicle E/E behavior, ensuring program milestones and quality standards are met.
• Design and assemble bench hardware including wire harnesses, breakout boxes, load simulation, power distribution, and instrumentation with attention to ease of assembly, serviceability, and robust operation.
• Develop tooling and automation in Python for ECU flashing, test orchestration, and bench health monitoring integrated into CI pipelines.
• Debug hardware and software issues using oscilloscopes and bus analysis tools across CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet protocols.
• Conduct network compatibility and protocol compliance reviews to validate interoperability of sensors, ECUs, and actuation subsystems.
• Define acceptance criteria, execute bench- and vehicle-level validation, and drive root cause analysis to closure.
• Maintain comprehensive platform documentation including schematics, integration procedures, failure mode analyses, and action reports.
• Interface cross-functionally with software, hardware, and program teams to drive delivery and track integration tasks in JIRA.
Required qualifications: BS or MS in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent); 2–3+ years in vehicle E/E systems integration, HIL bench development, or vehicle-level validation.
Nice-to-have skills include experience with commercial HIL platforms (dSPACE, NI, Vector, Speedgoat), ECAD tools (Siemens Capital), MATLAB/Simulink, and factory/vehicle launch bring-up. Applied Intuition is a 5-day in-office company headquartered in Sunnyvale, though occasional flexibility is offered.
