As Head of SME & Growth for Canada, you will own the commercial strategy and results for the Canadian market. This is a hybrid role based in Toronto that combines strategy, leadership, and hands-on execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary face of Airwallex in Canada with customers, partners, and the broader market
- Building, leading, and developing a high-performing commercial team across sales, account management, and partnerships
- Owning go-to-market strategy and commercial outcomes, from pipeline growth through customer expansion and retention
- Coaching deals, improving execution, and raising the bar on hiring, performance, and team development
- Partnering with Marketing, Strategy, Product, and regional leaders to improve market readiness and build repeatable growth levers
The SME & Growth team focuses on helping ambitious Canadian businesses scale faster across borders, working with companies managing payments, financial operations, and global growth. Canada represents an exciting market with significant upside and room to build, offering real scope, visibility, and the opportunity to shape market growth.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience leading SMB sales teams or scaling high-volume sales motions in a high-growth B2B environment
- 10 years of commercial or GTM leadership experience, including time in strategy, operations, or high-growth technology businesses
- 5 years of experience leading multi-functional teams of 10 or more across sales, account management, partnerships, or marketing
- Demonstrated success owning commercial outcomes and growing customers and revenue in a B2B environment
- Strong strategic and analytical instincts, with ability to move from market strategy to execution detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in fintech or payments
- Track record of building, scaling, or turning around a market at a key inflection point
- Experience developing multi-channel growth strategies across new logo acquisition, customer expansion, and partnerships
- Strong cross-functional leadership across commercial, product, marketing, and strategy teams
- Player-coach mindset with strong commercial judgment and practical, data-driven approach to growth
