Salary: USD 295,000 - 375,000 / annual

Anthropic is seeking a Head of Recruiting to lead the team that hires for the Communications, Brand, and Marketing functions. This is a people-management role where you will lead a team of experienced, senior recruiters and serve as the primary recruiting partner to the leaders of these functions and their operations partners. Key responsibilities include: - Lead, coach, and retain a team of senior recruiters with a focus on fast and timely feedback - Build deep trust with Communications, Brand, and Marketing leaders; learn their needs, raise hiring risks early, and push back when plans don't align with market realities - Own headcount plans, pipeline data, and reporting to ensure accuracy for strategic planning - Use data to track search status, identify bottlenecks, and determine what's needed to close positions - Partner with operations teams on headcount, planning, and priorities - Establish consistent recruiting processes across the team: search execution, interview structure, data hygiene, and use of systems and Claude workflows - Hire recruiters to your team, including specialists in communications and brand hiring - Collaborate with Compensation, Finance, People Partners, and Recruiting Operations to ensure clear, fair candidate and hiring team processes Anthropnic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The Communications, Brand, and Marketing teams shape how people understand AI, its risks, and benefits, often working through high-profile moments. This role requires someone who can move fast and maintain team stability under sustained high pace. Requirements: - Demonstrated experience managing recruiters, including senior recruiters, with strong team culture - Proven track record as a trusted recruiting partner to senior executives - Rigorous recruiting operations discipline: know your numbers, maintain accurate headcount and pipeline data - Ability to maintain steady performance at high pace and keep your team steady - Strong feedback skills and ability to handle difficult conversations with care - Discretion with sensitive information and good judgment on sensitive searches - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience - A field of study relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Strong candidates may also have: - 10+ years of recruiting experience, including 5+ years managing recruiters or recruiting managers - Experience leading an executive search function or owning a recruiting portfolio for Communications, Brand, Corporate Affairs, or Marketing - Experience supporting leaders whose work is public and high-stakes - Experience scaling a recruiting team at a fast-growing company - Fluency with recruiting systems and AI tools, with a track record of teaching recruiters to use them effectively
