Helsing is a defence AI company on a mission to protect democracies through technological leadership. As Head of Production Quality, you will own all quality activities across Helsing's EN9100-certified production facility, from incoming inspection through final assembly. You will maintain and evolve the quality management system to meet defence manufacturing standards, set quality strategy, and drive continuous improvement across the production flow.
Your responsibilities include owning the EN9100 quality management system across the full production flow, ensuring the facility remains audit-ready at all times. You will lead, develop, and manage the production quality team, setting clear objectives and building capability to foster a culture of quality ownership. You'll lead the internal audit programme, manage non-conformances end-to-end, and report quality metrics including first-pass yield and defect rates to senior leadership, translating data into actionable improvement programmes.
You will partner closely with engineering and supply chain teams to embed quality at source, from first article inspection and design reviews through production acceptance and customer delivery. You'll serve as the primary point of contact for external audits, customer quality reviews, and regulatory enquiries, protecting Helsing's EN9100 certification status and sustaining customer confidence.
Ideal candidates have led quality functions within EN9100 or AS9100-certified aerospace or defence manufacturing environments with direct ownership of the full production flow. You should have designed, implemented, and maintained quality management systems end-to-end, including audit programmes, document control, and non-conformance management. Experience building and managing production quality teams in live manufacturing environments is essential. You must be fluent in German and English, written and spoken, and able to operate with equal confidence across both languages in professional and technical contexts.
Nice-to-have qualifications include familiarity with AQAP 2110 or AQAP 2131 within defence manufacturing contexts and experience operating within scaling or growth-stage organisations where processes are still being built.
